1950′s Catastrophe: Grand Prix racing from the 50′s-60′s were no doubt, intense and energetic.  However, as exciting as the races were, they were extremely dangerous! The race cars were hardly equipped with any safety features to protect the driver.  Crashes like the one above proved to be fatal to the drivers.
